The Humanities Department is an interdisciplinary, multicultural program that emphasizes the study of society, ideas, and the arts, with special concern for questions of values -moral, intellectual, cultural, and aesthetic- that are inherent in major human expressions. This program serves a variety of personal and career objectives, including preparation for teaching, doctoral study, and careers in business, public service, and the arts.
